Eat, sleep, JDM. In two words and one acronym we quickly described Jason Richardson and his mode of transportation, a 2004 Acura TSX. The small sport sedan represents Acura in the United States but also flies high amongst the tuner crowd across the pond labeled as a Honda Accord.

When Jason acquired his TSX back in November of 2003 he quickly realized that parts were not in high production, at least not in the states. As mentioned earlier, the TSX has Accord roots in Japan which fell in Jason’s favor when seeking aftermarket parts. He quickly set his sights on a Euro-R look hoping to enhance upon the already scorching lines of the car.

Jason started working with his Carbon Grey Pearl canvas and began hording JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) parts by the boatload. From a Euro-R grill to a Euro-R lip kit, he began constructing the beast that would draw much attention from the crowd. However, he didn’t stop with just the exterior. Inside, Jason pilots the TSX with a Euro-R Momo steering wheel accompanied by JDM pedal’s at his feet. Make sure and bring your translator because Jason went right down to the SRS warning decal to get the JDM theme complete on the interior.

In a perfect world everything would be JDM-made for Jason. Conversely, he stuck to his American roots for the sound system by calling on Memphis Car Audio equipment to bring home the thump. Japanese electronics were once again called upon when Jason ordered the custom install of a Playstation 2 mated to a front LCD screen replacing an existing storage pocket.

Here at Luxozine we value a well maintained power plant and Jason didn’t let us down in that department. The K24A motor pulls air in through an Injen cold air intake and quickly disperses it through a Comptech 4-2-1 header, RandomTech hi-flow catalytic converter and Greddy catback exhaust system. On the visual side, Jason has placed JDM Honda radiator and valve covers on top. Mugen carbon fiber decorates his spark plug cover along with the oil and radiator caps.

With J-spec TEIN flex coilover suspension, this TSX is no slouch in the curves. Jason also installed the TEIN EDFC to keep his ride under constant surveillance. In the rear the TSX received an Ingalls rear camber kit. Back up front Cusco upper and lower strut bars keep the handling in check.

It would be an understatement to say that Jason changes wheels like socks (Volk GT-C & Ron Jon 3-piece Devotion). But for now, his heart is happily content with a set of 19” Junction Produce Scara wheels. He is keeping the JDM look locked down on all four corners. Stopping power is produced by front and rear Rotora rotors matched with Hawk brake pads.

The Acura TSX and Japanese Honda Accord world can rest easy knowing they have superb representation on the show circuit from Jason. The constant desire to keep his car at the top of the auto industry game does not go unnoticed. Maybe next time we can feature his trophy case.
